Get More Value from Your Biogas Fertilizer
Biogas fertilizer is an excellent fertilizer, but it comes with its challenges. When spreading, it’s not uncommon for 25% of the nitrogen content to evaporate into the air, creating odors. The nitrogen-to-phosphorus ratio can also make it difficult to achieve the correct nitrogen dosage without exceeding phosphorus limits, resulting in the need for additional fertilization.
Our Process
By investing in EkoBalans technology, we refine the digestate to tailor it to your specific disposal needs. Our portfolio includes technologies such as dewatering, drying, phosphorus recovery in the form of struvite, nitrogen recovery in the form of solid ammonium sulfate, and nutrient water pre-treatment systems.
Benefits
By separating the nutrients into liquid and solid phases, flexibility increases in how and when the fertilizer is applied to the soil. The nutrient supply on fields can be adjusted to maximize available nitrogen and minimize the amount that escapes into the air. You know exactly what you're getting, and at what price. The solid fraction can be stored and spread when soil conditions are most optimal. The recovered solid fractions can remain local or be purchased by us to be used as raw material in our production of climate-smart fertilizers.
